Make it

2 servings

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats, ground to flour
  • ¼ cup besan
  • ½ cup finely grated carrot
  • 2 tbsp chopped spinach
  • ¼ tsp cumin powder
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • ¾ cup water, adjusted to a pourable batter
  • 1 tsp oil for cooking
  • Salt to taste

How to make it

  1. Mix ground oats, besan, vegetables, cumin, turmeric and salt.
  2. Add water slowly. Rest for 10 minutes, then loosen with a little water if the oats thicken the batter.
  3. Brush a non-stick tawa with part of the oil. Spread a small ladleful thinly.
  4. Cook over medium heat until set, flip and cook the other side. Repeat, sharing the measured oil across the batch.
  5. Serve hot with plain curd or a chutney suited to your preference.
